Over the years there have been hundreds of darts players to switch from the BDO to the PDC system, with a minority entering themselves directly into the premiere darting arena through the challenge tour. The BDO World Professional Darts Championship will no longer take place at the historic home of worlds darts after the BDO signed a deal with The 02 in London to stage the event.
Lakeside County Club has been the home of the BDO World Championships since its 1986 where Eric Bristow was crowned champion. The move signifies a new start for the BDO as they look to capitalize on the hype around the sport in it’s current era.
